LaSalle News Tribune: Walt Marini running for mayor in Spring Valley

The LaSalle News Tribune covered Walt Marini's announcement that he's running for Mayor of Spring Valley. From the story:
In the announcement he made before a gathering of family and friends, he indicated he thinks the time is right to bring a new direction to the top job inSpring Valley. 
“Today, I’m announcing my candidacy for the position of mayor of Spring Valley,” Marini said in his official announcement of candidacy. “I’m running because the citizens of Spring Valley want a public servant and mayor who will serve them while bringing a new level of professionalism and integrity to our city government.” 
This morning, Marini emphasized that he always has behaved in a professional manner and always has had a high level of integrity, and passed that value on to his children.
He also announced that he has a website, 
“One of the things I’ve heard most often from my neighbors is that they want a responsive local government,” Marini said. “As mayor, I intend to make sure that we create and maintain honest, open lines of communication where residents can have their voice heard.” 
He has lived in the 3rd Ward for 37 years. 
“I’m running for mayor not to make a name for myself, but to make a name for Spring Valley,” Marini continued in his announcement. “Mary Jane and I have dedicated many years to helping make our community great and it would be an honor to serve the residents as mayor.”
Marini closed by saying: “Together, we can make Spring Valley even better.”
